Tomato curry

Another one lazy recipe (quick and tasty too)

Disclaimer : Friends, me weak in giving measurements of ingredients…. Generally I adjust by either tasting or smelling and make it to perfect…..

1. Tomato – Ripen 3 or 4 depending on size
2. Big Onion – 1 or 2 depending on size
3. Curry leaves
4. Green chilly – 3
5. Mustard & urdu dal
6. Little oil
7. Turmeric powder
8. Chilli powder – (1/2 teaspoon if green chilli used….. Else 1 teaspoon)
9. Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon (small)
10. Grated Coconut – 1 spoon
11. Fennel seeds (I think I said correct, Sombu in tamil) – 1 teaspoon
12. Salt to taste


1. Cut tomato and onions and green chilly
2. Keep pan on the stove and pour little oil
3. Put mustard and urdu dal. After it spurts, add curry leaves, onion and green chilly
4. when onion turns transulant, add tomato
5. smash the tomato well and add little water
6. Add salt, turmeric, coriander and chilli powders and let it get cooked
7. Grind coconut and fennel seeds (adding little water)
8. Make the flame low and put this paste and allow to cook for few more minutes

hehehehe done now and it is tasty to eat with rice as well as roti / chappati

Those who eat egg can boil few eggs and cut them and serve along with this curry.
